| Guidelines for Final Exercise In this course you have been conducting a series of assigned readings. In addition we have had the privilege of hearing in class from numerous experts and activists including scientists, archaeologists, journalists, and those knowlegeable about the means and mechanisms of facilitating personal, institutional and social change. For the final exercise in the course you will be expected to synthesize in your own words (in written responses that shall not exceed one hour) specific replies to several questions that will be posed to you on the basis of these readings and the lectures throughout the term. Students who have done well in the past in this exercise have been those who have cited specific examples from particular lecturers, readings or the supplementary material made available in the course. The skill of clear and concise writing, supported with relevant examples to prove your points, will be most highly rewarded. Those attending in class will be given the first hour of Session 16 (24 May) to write replies to the questions.
